Nick Zachar is a multimedia producer and filmmaker with his MFA in Film & Electronic Media from American University. After spending time at National Geographic as a Producer/Editor on their Digital Team, Nick is now a Producer/Shooter/Editor for NOAA’s Office of National Marine Sanctuaries, where he tells stories of conservation of America’s underwater park system. As a graduate student at American University, Nick had the opportunity to film on the Chesapeake Bay aboard Coast Guard vessels, hike through Costa Rican rainforests, and repel into crevasses of Alaskan glaciers. During his recent travels to the Olympic Coast Nick had the opportunity to swim with running salmon and came face to face with a feeding Bobcat (both while getting “the shot”). Nick strives to find and share meaningful stories that shed light on environmental and wildlife issues, and hopes that his films will inspire viewers to take action.
