Forest Woodward

Roles: Director

Forest Woodward is a photographer, filmmaker and writer based based in the Gunnison Valley, CO. His practice is rooted in an immersive connection to land, with a central curiosity revolving around the neo-mythic entanglements of humans and the more than human world. His work explores landscapes and communities in flux, with a special interest in edgelands; places where the tides of human encroachment and retreat meet waves of their own making. He has directed award-winning films such as The Important Places (Mountainfilm 2105) and Sacred Strides (Mountainfilm 2019). Forest is an MFA candidate (2022) at the Hartford Art School.
