Sion Sono

Sion Sono was born in Toyokawa, Japan and attended Hosei University. His films include Suicide Club (2001) and Love Exposure (2008), which won the FIPRESCI Prize at Berlin. Many of his films have screened at the Festival, including Cold Fish (2010), Himizu (2011), The Land of Hope (2012), Why Don’t You Play in Hell? (2013), winner of the People’s Choice Midnight Madness Award, and Tokyo Tribe (2014). The Whispering Star (2015) is his latest feature.
