Deia Schlosberg

Deia Schlosberg completed an MFA in Science & Natural History Filmmaking at Montana State University in Bozeman. Her thesis film, BACKYARD, about the human cost of fracking, has won numerous awards, including two student Emmys (Best Documentary and the Bricker Humanitarian Award), and screened at film festivals around the world. The film is currently being used in community campaigns to keep the oil and gas industry from causing further disastrous health and environmental impacts. Deia’s background is in environmental education and visual arts, as well as expeditioning, having been awarded a 2009 National Geographic Adventurer of the Year award.
