Roshan Patel

Roles: Producer

Roshan is a media producer living in Washington, D.C. He earned his MFA in Science and Natural History Filmmaking from Montana State University and has produced short films for a variety of topics, ranging from lions in western India to the impacts of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill on deep sea artifacts and ecosystems. His films, Pride and Red Wolf Revival, have won awards at film festivals including “Best Short” and “Best Conservation Film” at the International Wildlife Film Festival and “Best Conservation Success Film” at the NY Wild Film Festival. He has worked with conservation organizations such as Wildlands Network, Defenders of Wildlife, and the Association of Zoos and Aquariums to host screenings across the country. Today, he is the media producer at Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute, where he creates films ranging in topic from coral conservation to spread of disease through wildlife.
