“Full Circle” is Anne Via McCollough’s first film. In 2016, she formed Taking Flight Productions, LLC with producer Ethan Ferkiss to make two films to illuminate and celebrate two long-term scientific projects – the Great Gull Island Project and the Hudson Bay Project.

In 2012, Anne volunteered on Great Gull Island marking nests – an amazing experience! Then, in making “Full Circle,” she has had the benefit of a really great team including Ethan, cinematographer Phillip Townsend, intern Will Beaton, veteran filmmaker/cinematographer Michael Male, multi-talented editor Nathan Punwar and awesome musicians!

After graduating from Georgetown University and then Middlebury College, Anne taught Latin, German, French and Spanish for some years and then had the opportunity to be a stay-at-home mother. Her son James had a keen interest in birds as a young child, and it was through her support of James that Anne has had a chance to learn about birds herself.
