Richard Ladkani is an award-winning director and cinematographer whose work focuses on environmental, social, and political issues. His films include Sea of Shadows (National Geographic/Disney+), winner of the Sundance Audience Award, and The Ivory Game (Netflix), both executive produced by Leonardo DiCaprio and the latter shortlisted for the Academy Awards in 2017.

A member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Ladkani is known for directing and shooting his own films, creating an intimate and immersive visual style. His credits also include Jane’s Journey, released theatrically in over 40 countries, and The Devil’s Miner, which premiered at Tribeca. In 2023, he served as Series Director on Arctic Ascent for National Geographic/Disney+. He is the co-founder of Malaika Pictures.
