Michael Gunton is the Creative Director of Factual and The Natural History Unit at BBC Studios. As an Executive Producer on leading titles, he acts as an ambassador for BBC Studios globally, delivering pioneering stories about the natural world to audiences. The BBC Studios Natural History Unit is the world’s largest wildlife filmmaking production unit. Over his career, Mike has worked on acclaimed series such as Galapagos, Yellowstone, Madagascar, Life, Africa, Shark, Attenborough and the Giant Dinosaur, and Life Story. He speaks internationally about Natural History filmmaking and the BBC’s environmental work. Notable projects include Planet Earth II (4 BAFTAs, 2 Emmys) and Dynasties. He also produced the Emmy-nominated The Green Planet and collaborated with Jon Favreau on Prehistoric Planet seasons 1 and 2. His latest project, Planet Earth III, offers new perspectives on the natural world and its challenges.
