Lauren Herrero Garvín

With studies in Creative Documentary and image in Spain, the USA (San Francisco Film Society) and Mexico (AMCI), Laura arrived in Mexico in 2010 to devote her full time to making film. She has directed, photographed and edited several film projects, especially documentaries.

She is currently a member of La Sandia Digital and Emergenciamx. Laura’s works have been selected and awarded in film festivals in Mexico and other countries. El Remolino is Laura’s feature-length documentary debut as a director. El Remolino has its international premiere in Locarno Film Festival and it has been selected until now in more than 10 film festival like Ambulante, Camden, Morelia, FILMAR en Latinoamérica, DOCSDF, Oaxaca, MICGénero, etc and it has a Special mention in FICMY, México. Laura is currently developing a new feature-length documentary in Mexico called DzLa Mamidz selected in the Co Production Forum San Sebastian Film Festival.
