Pablo Albarenga

Roles: Director

Pablo Albarenga is National Geographic Explorer and a Pulitzer Center grantee. He works as a documentary photographer, cinematographer and visual storyteller exploring Human Rights issues in Latin America. As a photographer, Pablo has dedicated his work to investigating, studying, and photographing the land conflicts that continue to affect traditional populations, threatened by huge development projects aiming to exploit the rich natural resources available such as minerals, wood and extensive agriculture. Since 2019 he is working with editor Francesc Badia in the Rainforest Defenders Series, a project from democraciaAbierta, funded by the Rainforest Journalism Fund, Pulitzer Center, which tells the stories of young leaders on their journeys to protect their territories throughout the Amazon basin, building a comprehensive map of the threats and opportunities they are facing.
