From March 19-28, The D.C Environmental Film Festival will showcase an exciting of lineup of films to inspire, educate, and amaze our city’s youth audience. As the climate movement is shaped by the next generation, we welcome students, kids, and families to the festival with discounted tickets for the programs listed below.

2026 Family-Friendly Programs
Our lineup of family films are perfect for all ages to enjoy. Join us on the weekends to see the brand new animated film The Last Whale Singer and new documentary Bee-Wild in D.C, and head up to the AFI in Silver Spring and delight in the colorful world of Hayao Miyazaki.

The Student Guide to DCEFF 2026
DMV students in Middle School and High School are invited to attend screenings throughout the entire festival, March 19-28. Based on areas of interest, click on the titles below for tickets and free registration for in-person screenings. Once you leave the screening, find links to similar films and further reading on each topic to feed your curiosity post-festival!
The Student Guide to DCEFF is intended for 7th-12th grade or college level students, as these films hold more complex issues about our environment, conservation, and science. Ratings range from PG-PG-13. If you are parent/teacher with questions about film ratings, reach out to cate@dceff.org
