Jairo Valencia is a human rights activist from Colombia with over 20 years of experience in community empowerment, organizing, and outreach with underserved communities. He is a dedicated indigenous rights defender, acting as a political advocate for displaced peoples, especially women and children, land tenure, life plans, territory, and the environment, in collaboration with many organizations, including the National Indigenous Organization of Colombia (ONIC), Colombian Human Rights Committee, Amazon Alliance, and UNHCR. He has been invited as a guest contributor to CNÑ on panel discussions about the ongoing peace and reconciliation process in Colombia.
