Dr. Randie Shane

Dr. Randie Shane has been practicing veterinary medicine in Westchester and Rockland county for over 20 years. While attending veterinary school, she is proud to have helped initiate the first “alternative” student surgical training program in the country. After graduation from Cornell Veterinary School, she went on for post doctoral training as an intern at the Animal Medical Center in NYC.

Over the years, Dr. Shane has become a firm believer in the integration of eastern and western medicine. She particularly loves the hands on work of Tuina (Chinese medical massage). She’s been told she is the arthritic Labrador’s best friend. In addition to tuina, she incorporates acupuncture, herbal therapy, nutritional guidance, and qi gong energy work within her integrative medical practice.

Dr Shane has a special interest and place in her heart for the geriatric patient. She is also experienced with “pocket pets”, rabbits and small birds. She is known for her very patient and gentle manner and finds this to be particularly appreciated by the fearful feline. Dr. Shane’s home is filled with the love of her daughter and new blended family, as well as her beloved rescues (she has always been a rescuer). Notable among her crowded home are “Penny” the kind-hearted, diabetic labrador, “Rosita Conchita Margarita” the chihuahua dulce, and “Abner” the remarkably handsome orange tabby.
