Octavius is the head medicine man of A:Shiwi (Zuni) tribe in Zuni, New Mexico, as well as a member of the Zuni Cultural Resources Advisory Team. He is also an award-winning needlepoint turquoise artist. He has lead 18 pilgrimages of Zuni Elders down the Grand Canyon, to perform cultural practices and strengthen the living connection with the place of their ancestors.
