Rick Schwolsky and Mollie Beattie were married in 1979 and lived in the remote home they built together in Grafton, Vermont until 1993 when they moved to Washington, DC as Mollie was appointed by President Clinton to serve as the first woman to lead the US Fish and Wildlife Service. With the move to DC, Rick retired from his company Grafton Builders, to become the construction editor for a group of leading national construction magazines. He is currently volunteering for the Veterans Community Project in Boulder County, Colorado — serving as the lead carpenter in building a 26-unit tiny home village for homeless veterans.
