Katie Schiller

Roles: Producer

Katie is a queer filmmaker based in Brooklyn, NY. She was a recipient of the John Cassavetes Award at the 2022 Film Independent Spirit Awards. Her most recent narrative features include SHIVA BABY (producer, SXSW, TIFF 2020) and DATING & NEW YORK (co-producer, Tribeca 2021). Katie’s most recent shorts as a producer include THE LADIES (Outfest 2022) and CHAPERONE (Sundance 2022). Katie co-directed the short A PORTRAIT OF FRANCES, ENCLOSED (Palm Springs Short Fest 2020) and is currently in post-production on COLUMBARIUM, co-directed with Roger Mancusi. Katie co-produced the Netflix documentary series, The Principles of Pleasure and served as a segment producer on Lady Gaga’s The Power of Kindness for Facebook Watch. She is currently producing the 3-part docuseries, Lesbian Bar Project for Roku’s Branded Content Studio and Andrew Nadkarni’s directorial debut documentary short, BETWEEN EARTH & SKY. She holds a BFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and is currently a Masters of Social Work candidate at Fordham University. Katie owns and operates It Doesn’t Suck Productions where she carries out soup to nuts producing with a focus on women, the LGBTQIA+ community, and stories it would really suck not to tell.
