Dechen Roder (born 1980, Bumthang, Bhutan) has been making documentaries and small films in Bhutan since 2005. While working on many commissioned projects (documentaries, advertisements, music videos and other audio visual content) she tries to find time and funds for her own personal projects. In 2011 she made her first short fiction Original Photocopy of Happiness which was nominated for Best Short Film at the Brussels International Independent Film Festival 2011, and won “Special Mention” award at the Hong Kong ifva Awards 2012. Her most recent short film Lo Sum Choe Sum was nominated for the Berlinale Shorts Competition 2015. She is currently developing her first feature film, Honeygiver Among the Dogs. She is also the co-founder and organizer of the first and only short and documentary film festival in Bhutan- Beskop Tshechu.
