Nigel Pope has been working as a wildlife film-maker for 30 years. Originally trained in Bristol’s famous BBC Natural History unit, he developed and produced many successful series including Big Cat Week, Springwatch and The Secret Life of Elephants. In 2010 he established Maramedia with partner Jackie Savery. Specialising in global blue-chip programming, the company has produced a series of visually spectacular and impactful films including Hebrides Islands on the Edge, Stormborn and Chasing the Rains. Globally recognised for his innovative and powerful story-driven approach, Nigel has won and been nominated for many international awards including BAFTAs, Wildscreen Pandas and Primetime Emmys. A LIFE AMONG ELEPHANTS is the first production from MARADOCS – a label formed with long-term associate Justin Purefoy.
