Julia Ocker was born in Pforzheim, Germany, where she studied visual communication at the Hochschule Pforzheim, and later pursued animation at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. She has directed the shorts Kellerkind (12) (her graduate project), and Zebra (13).
