Garin Nugroho

Garin Nugroho Riyanto is an award-winning Indonesian film director and writer.  Nugroho made his directorial debut with 1991’s Cinta dalam Sepotong Roti (Love in a Slice of Bread), a film that was selected as Best Film in that year’s Indonesian Film Festival. Nugroho’s credits include films such as Requiem from Java (2006), Leaf on a Pillow (1998) and Soegija (2012), among others. He produced the film The Mirror Never Lies (2011), shown in the 2013 Environmental Film Festival.
