Dr. Nima Namgyal Sherpa

Dr. Nima Namgyal Sherpa is a passionate adventurer with love and respect for the mountains, nature and wilderness. Combining his passion with his profession, he has worked as an expedition doctor on numerous expeditions, treks and rescues in the Himalayas, and travelled extensively at home and abroad. In addition to being a medical doctor, he holds a Diploma in Outdoor Education/Leadership from NOLS USA; Wilderness First Responder certification from Wilderness Medicine Institute NOLS, USA; a post-graduate Diploma in Mountain Medicine, MMSN Nepal, Diploma in Mountain Emergency Medicine, Institute of Mountain Emergency Medicine Bolzano Italy – approved by UIAA/ISMM/ICAR, Mountain Rescue Training Nepal/Italy; and Pre-hospital Emergency Medicine Elective from University Hospital of North Stratford and Mid Lands Air Ambulance UK .As well as attending to the needs of his clients and Sherpas in basecamp, he has accompanied them all the way to the summits of Mt. Everest (8848m), Mt. Manaslu (8163m), Mt. Amadablam (6812m), Lobuche East (6150m), Island Peak (6189m) and others during his career as an expedition medic.
