Jeffrey James is an award-winning screenwriter and filmmaker. He co-founded The Climate, Inc., a multi-platform media company providing a public forum for two marginalized groups affected by climate change. He is also co-host of The Climate Daily podcast, a top 20 podcast on a few lists, heard by over 30,000 listeners in 45 countries on five continents. Jeffrey and The Climate, Inc. recently produced East of the River, a documentary film short that won “Best Short Documentary” at the 2023 DC Independent Film Festival. Jeffrey also co-founded Veteran Compost Residential Food Scrap Services. In three years of ownership, VCR and its 1,000 customers diverted over 695,000 pounds of food waste from landfills into compost soil amendment, preventing 58,000 pounds of methane GHG emissions during three years of ownership. Under new ownership, it continues to thrive. Jeffrey James is a weekend host on WAMU 88.5FM, Washington, DC’s NPR news station. Jeffrey has an MFA in Creative Writing from Full Sail University and a BA from Harvard University in Afro-American Studies and Visual & Environmental Studies.
