Lauren Shweder Biel is Executive Director and co-founder of DC Greens, a nonprofit working to advance health equity by building a just and resilient food system in the nation’s capital. DC Greens runs a Produce Prescription Program that is considered a national leader in the effort to integrate healthy food access into the healthcare system, with particular attention to Medicaid populations. Lauren sits on the Steering Committee of the National Produce Prescription Collaborative, is an Advisor to the Aspen Institute’s Food is Medicine Research Group, and was co-chair of the Food is Medicine Accelerator with the Google Food Lab.
