J.P. Lawrence

J.P. Lawrence finished his PhD at the University of Mississippi and is currently a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California, Irvine. He is working on understanding how butterfly vision evolves and changes among species. His past work has focused on the Poison Frogs of Central and South America, and the Australian Brood Frogs to investigate these questions. His work has allowed him to travel around the globe from Costa Rica, Panama, French Guiana, and Ecuador to Australia and Malaysian Borneo. In addition to research on these excursions, he will take students to teach them in the scientific method and use his photography to communicate the importance of conserving such biodiverse areas.
