Somah Haaland

Somah Toya Haaland (they/them) is a queer Indigenous organizer from the Pueblos of Laguna and Jemez in New Mexico. They are a Communications Coordinator with Pueblo Action Alliance, a community driven grassroots organization that focuses on climate justice and community defense for Pueblo relatives. Through their position with PAA, Somah works with the Greater Chaco Coalition, which is fighting to protect the last 7% of land in the Greater Chaco Region from oil & gas extraction. Somah has a background in storytelling through theater, filmmaking, and writing poetry. They are passionate about using art as a medium to resist the dominant colonial paradigm.
