Paola Martínez Gutiérrez is a freelance journalist and photographer focused on human rights, the environment, science, and art. Her stories have appeared in Mexican media outlets such as Reforma newspaper, Pie de Página, La Desvelada, and the NGO PODER. For the Pulitzer Center, she works with a team of colleagues on the illegal supply chain behind the baby octopus delicacy in the Yucatán. Previously, she worked as a narrator and podcast producer with the Mexican Society at the University of Oxford and Kizaya media, focused on science communication.
