Susanne Guggenberger

Susanne coordinated the DOK Market DOK Leipzig in Germany. She was interim head of DOC Market at Visions du Réel in 2011.  She has significant distribution experience having been the head of international sales for AUTLOOK Filmsales, Austria’s major distributor of television documentaries. Before joining Autlook Filmsales in 2007 she worked for over ten years with various European production companies, including Navigator Film, Mischief Films and Ego Humer Filmproduktion, with broad experience in project development, production management, post-production and distribution. She has particular interest in new forms of distribution and financing and 360 degree content projects, having developed community online projects initially as part of the Firstmedia Network already in 2002 and as an EAVE participant (the forum of European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs) in 2007.

Although mainly working in production, she also wrote and directed the television feature documentary “Kosova Transit” (2001, 78min) for Austria’s public broadcaster ORF 3Sat, which explored women’s experiences during the Kosova War. Before entering the film business she completed her Masters Degree in Communication and History and worked as assistant director for several performance groups in Vienna and New York.
