Ann Gallagher

Roles: Special Guest

Ann Gallagher, National Park Service of the National Capital Region Science Education Coordinator with the Urban Ecology Research Learning Alliance (UERLA) and climate change scientist with the NPS’s Climate Change Response Program, is a trained watershed ecologist. She has over 15 years of experience instructing biology, earth science, and ecology at the University of Maryland and Catholic University of America. She holds certifications as an ESA Senior Ecologist, ISA Arborist, a PRI Project Management Professional, and in Environmental Public Policy. Her recent publications focus on 1) protecting and quantifying ecological services provided by public lands at risk due to climate change and 2) the application of public policy and administrative management strategies to foster inclusion. In addition to her work with NPS, she is an executive director with an international nonprofit organization, a founding director of a community nonprofit, and is pursuing another degree to apply the principles of public administration and environmental policy to more widely distribute scientifically-informed best practices.
