Aner Etxebarria is a filmmaker of conservation and anthropology stories, whose passion for wild nature and indigenous worlds has led him to produce, script and direct documentaries in several countries.
After working as a wildlife cameraman on the European Mink Conservation Programme, his steps took him to the Andes mountains. There he spent months living with the Quechua communities of Peru and Bolivia, directing and producing documentary shorts on lifestyle, vulnerabilities and gender equality for NGOs.
In 2013 founded his own production company: Old Port Films. Directing and producing a number of documentaries, such as Baskavigin: The Slaughter of the Basque Whalers.
His last work has been Voices of Earth. A documentary series that tells the story of some of the last human beings that preserves an authentic relation of symbiosis with wild nature in some of the remotest places of our planet. Voices of Earth was nominated as best limited series in the Jackson Wild Media 2021.
