Steve Dorst
Steve Dorst is an American documentary filmmaker based in Washington, D.C. His feature documentary films include Jobs for G.I.s(2015), Shattered Sky (2012), and Volcanic Sprint (2007). You can watch them on DirecTV, PBS, iTunes, Hulu, and Amazon. He is currently in post-production on Rebirth of Over-the-Rhine and in production on two more feature documentaries.
Through his production company Dorst MediaWorks, Dorst makes videos for international development organizations. These stories often feature beneficiaries and show how development projects improve their lives. They illustrate development results, mobilize funds, or raise awareness. Development topics include: health, agriculture, governance, the environment, gender, microfinance, and education. Dorst has directed and produced videos for international development organizations on five continents, filming in Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Bosnia, Brazil, Cameroon, Colombia, Egypt, Ethiopia, Hong Kong, Japan, Kenya, Lebanon, Mexico, the Philippines, Senegal, and Zimbabwe. Clients include: USAID and its implementers, the World Bank Group and its partners, and international nonprofits.
