Hope Davison (co-director/producer) is a 2nd generation Japanese American from central North Carolina. Her past work explores themes of intersectional identity through empathy-driven lens. She was the 2021 Hearst Journalism Multimedia Champion for her film, “Wild Heart,” which premiered at RiverRun Film Festival and Footcandle Film Festival. Currently in post-production, her most recent film, “Arinomama (As You Are)” follows a ‘free school’ community in Chiba, Japan for children who do not attend government-mandated school due to societal pressure. She is a former video producer at The Washington Post and The Grand Rapids Press.
