Alan Dappen

Alan Dappen graduated from University of Washington Medical School in 1979 and has practiced medicine in California, Kenya, Mexico, and since 1992, in Vienna, VA. As a family doctor, he started a first of its kind medical practice in 2002 that has grown into a movement called, “direct primary care.” In 2014 he won the “Family Physicians Who Change the World Award.” With limited time to live the interesting life of outdoor adventure he enjoyed as a young man, Alan focuses on tennis, ice hockey, his wife and playing with his kids and grandchildren…and fishing, always fishing.
