Generations of Italian filmmakers have drawn inspiration from the stunning Aeolian Islands off the coast of Sicily. This journey on a red-sailed tartan boat to the Aeolian Islands, also a personal memoir of filmmaker Giovanna Taviani, looks at the islands that have inspired such legendary filmmakers as Rossellini (Stromboli, 1950), Antonioni (L’Avventura, 1960) and the Taviani Brothers (Kaos, 1984).
