Dr. Jane Goodall, DBE, Founder of the Jane Goodall Institute (JGI) and UN Messenger of Peace, is a world-renowned ethologist and activist inspiring greater understanding and action on behalf of the natural world. Dr. Goodall is known for groundbreaking studies of wild chimpanzees in Gombe Stream National Park, Tanzania, which forever changed our understanding of our relationship to the animal kingdom – helping to open the door to a more empathetic balance between our shared needs. Today, Jane continues to connect with worldwide audiences, despite the challenges of the pandemic, through ‘Virtual Jane’ including remote lectures, recordings, and her podcast, the “Jane Goodall Hopecast”.

Susan Jane Blumenthal is an American physician, global health expert, psychiatrist and public health advocate. With more than two decades of service as a senior government health leader in the administrations of four U.S. presidents, Blumenthal served as the first Deputy Assistant Secretary for Women’s Health and director of the Office on Women’s Health within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), as well as Assistant Surgeon General of the United States and senior global health advisor within the HHS. She also was a research branch chief at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the chair of the NIH Health and Behavior Coordinating Committee.

Edward John Markey is an American politician serving as the junior United States senator from Massachusetts since 2013. A member of the Democratic Party, he served 20 terms (18 full, two partial) as the U.S. representative for Massachusetts’s 7th congressional district from 1976 to 2013. Before his congressional career, he was a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives from 1973 to 1976.

Juliet Eilperin is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist at The Washington Post, editing climate and environmental coverage. She also is the author of two books, “Demon Fish: Travels Through the Hidden World of Sharks” and “Fight Club Politics: How Partisanship is Poisoning the House of Representatives.” Eilperin has worked for The Post since 1998. She previously served as The Post’s senior national affairs correspondent, White House bureau chief, national environmental reporter and House of Representatives correspondent.

Dr. Sylvia Earle has led more than 100 expeditions worldwide, logging more than 7,000 hours underwater. She served as Chief Scientist of the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration from 1990-92, and has been Explorer-in-Residence at the National Geographic Society since 1998. She was awarded the 2009 TED Prize for her proposal to establish a global network of marine protected areas, called “hope spots.” Her organization Mission Blue was founded that year to build public support for these hope spots.

Flo Stone is the Founder of the Environmental Film Festival in the Nation’s Capital, which she started in 1993. Previously, she worked on public programming for the American Museum of Natural History in New York City for 15 years. At the Museum, she directed the museum’s large, annual festival, West Side Day, from 1970-76.She also initiated the Margaret Mead Film Festival and served as its Co-Chair, from 1977-84. In 1986, Flo was Film Chair for the Smithsonian’s National Forum on Biodiversity and established the Earthwatch Institute Film Awards for documentaries, presented annually by National Geographic. She also chaired juries for the American Film & Video Festival, from 1986-1992.

Roger D. Stone was a former correspondent and bureau chief for Time magazine, former president of the Center for Inter-American Relations, director and president of the Sustainable Development Institute, and a board member of the World Wildlife Fund.
