Rhett is probably the only person in the world to hold a business degree from Charleston’s famous Citadel military school and a Masters in Art from the Rhode Island School of Design. Rhett’s father, the famous founder of CNN, instilled in him keen environmental ethics and a conservation-oriented outlook. Rhett founded Red Sky Productions in 1999 with the release of his environmental documentary Pollinators in Peril. Since then, he has traveled the globe to document and share the stories of people working to effect social and environmental change. He has covered diverse stories such as girls’ education in Cambodia and the eradication of River Blindness in Uganda. Rhett has produced and directed several environmental documentaries that focus on topics in his home state of Georgia. Chattahoochee Unplugged and Secrets of the Longleaf Pine both captured the SE Emmy for Best Documentary. Rhett is an Eagle Scout, and the proud father of a son just heading off to college.
