This contemporary Japanese food culture documentary explores our connection to food and to each other, both as an interaction among people and between people and nature. Seen through the experiences of a food purveyor, a singer, a famous actor, a homemaker who lives off the land and a Buddhist monk, the film embarks on a journey throughout Japan showing how life can be led richly through the daily ritual of eating. A traditional tea ceremony, a visit to a famous fish market in Tokyo and a gathering around the dinner table celebrate the central importance of food. In Japanese with English subtitles. Directed by Yuri Nomura.
