Mr. Reinert is a two-time Academy Award nominee as a documentary filmmaker (For All Mankind) and screenwriter (Apollo 13). His most recent documentary, An Unreal Dream, premiered at the South-by-Southwest Film Festival in March, 2013, where it won the audience award for best documentary. It also debuted on CNN in December 2013. He has been a contributing editor to Texas Monthly Magazine since that magazine was founded in 1972. After several years in exile in Los Angeles he is moving back home to Austin to make Rara Avis.
