There sure is some amazing talent coming out of the nation’s capital!
Last Friday, Jan. 27 marked the end of the #DCEFF25 Digital Shorts Competition. Funded by a Who’s a Washingtonian? grant from the Humanities Council of Washington, DC, in partnership with DC’s Office of Cable Television, Film, Music & Entertainment, DC teens between the ages of 12-18 were charged with the task of making a 60-second environmental film about the city through their eyes.
Teens from around DC responded to the call for submissions, including students from the Duke Ellington School of the Arts, Washington Latin, Richard Wright PCS, Columbia Heights Educational Campus (CHEC) and THEARC’s iCan & Boys & Girls programs.

Don’t Let Go

The winner of the award will be announced, along with the finalists, in mid-February. He/she will receive a $1,000 cash prize and his/her winning film will be presented at DCEFF’s annual youth screening at the Historic Lincoln Theatre, as well as during the 2017 Environmental Film Festival, March 14-26.
