May 17-28: 27th Annual Washington Jewish Film Festival

Check out a preview of this year’s lineup.

The Washington Jewish Film Festival returns this May.

The Washington Jewish Film Festival is back for its 27th edition. The Festival will run May 17-28 and will feature international films spanning various genres – from heart-tugging romances and sidesplitting comedies, to fast-paced thrillers and insightful documentaries. The Festival will also feature a number of beyond-the-films events and filmmaker Q&As. Notable guests include Barry Levinson (Rain Man, Good Morning Vietnam), Agnieszka Holland (Angry Harvest, The Wire, House of Cards), and Amy Heckerling (Clueless, Fast Times at Ridgemont High).

This year’s lineup includes Israeli film My Hero Brother, centered on a group of young people with Down syndrome who embark on a trip through the Himalayas with their brothers and sisters; and Holy Zoo, an insightful documentary that explores the neighboring cultures of Israel through the lens of Jerusalem’s Biblical Zoo.
