Just Announced: DCEFF to Co-Present World Premiere of Netflix Original

The new documentary series Fire Chasers will debut September 5th as part of the KCET Cinema Series in L.A.

Fire Chasers is a searing and intense documentary series that takes viewers into the heart of California’s devastating recent wildfires alongside the brave men and women of Cal Fire and the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The Netflix Original Documentary, produced by Appian Way and Original Productions, will be presented by DCEFF in partnership with Southern Californian-based KCET, the nation’s largest independent public television station.

The premiere event, which is the only public screening prior to the series launch on Netflix this fall, will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. PT at the Aero Theatre (1328 Montana Ave, Santa Monica, CA 90403) in Santa Monica. Following the screening of the first one-hour episode, KCET Cinema Series Host and Deadline.com Chief Film Critic Pete Hammond will moderate a Q&A panel discussion about the film and the issues around fire prevention.

We partnered with KCET last week for Earth Focus, L.A.’s inaugural environmental film festival. The event, which took place July 27th and 29th, was a huge success. Celebrity activists, including Kristin Davis, Sharon Lawrence and Raphael Sbarge, introduced memorable films from DCEFF’s 2017 lineup, Water & Power and The Age of Consequences.
