Before becoming a filmmaker, Stephani Gordon spent twelve years as a marine field biologist, most of it at sea or on remote islands. As a result, her films are infused with her passion and experience working as a field researcher in these intact ecosystems.

Stephani has filmed for PBS, National Geographic, NOAA, the National Park Service, and the US Fish and Wildlife Service – just to name a few. Her films have received international recognition and have been shown at highly regarded film festivals, including the Imagine Science Film Festival, BLUE Ocean Film Festival, American Conservation Film Festival, Globians International Doc Fest, and Festival International du film Maritime, d’Exploration et d’Environnement, among others.
