James Byrne

James is a USA-based Producer & Writer of stories about wildlife and conservation. James worked at National Geographic Television from 2000-2012, including work on the award-winning wildlife programs “Untamed Americas”, “Great Migrations”, and “Africa’s Lost Eden”, Nat Geo’s first film about Gorongosa National Park, in Mozambique. He is currently the Media Director of the Greg C. Carr Foundation, working full-time on stories about the Gorongosa Restoration Project. He was an EP and Series Producer of “Gorongosa Park: Rebirth of Paradise”, a 6-part TV series that aired on PBS in 2015. He also produced and wrote two of the episodes, including the one showing during the Environmental Film Festival: “Lion Mystery“. (The series aired on Nat Geo International as “Africa’s Wild Kingdom Reborn”.) The series was a result of an open and trusting collaboration with the staff of Gorongosa National Park, who gave the film crew incredible access to their work.
