Follow Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary on their monumental and historic first ascent of Mt. Everest in 1953 through interviews, photography and original and staged film footage. Shot in New Zealand’s Southern Alps, with their icy peaks and steep drops, this reenactment of the climb, in 3D, features a remarkable stand-in for Hillary, and weaves in vintage color footage shot by the climbers. This film celebrates an event that stunned the world and defined a nation. Directed by Leanne Pooley.
